The Green Art

There are some days I absolutely hate my Blackberry Z10, and rare are the days where I can appreciate its annoyance existence in my life. Yes, I may have regretted making the impulsive purchase, but not on one particular day.

That day happened to be the 10th of August

August 10 happens to be the day I discovered the Green Art. The beautiful Mosaiculture event which was previously held in Montreal, Shanghai and Hamamatsu.

Honestly, the first time I even heard about the event was when I was invited to. Of course, I googled it, and the first thing that came to screen was a grassy green guy kneeling on the floor, seemingly planting a flower. So when a friend of mine asked me what I was doing this week-end, and I still had no clue what it was or how to describe the event, I showed him the picture. He then merely proceeded to shake his head twice and sadly said, "You need new friends."

Har har. He is so very funny sometimes...

So my friend doesn't recognize art when he sees it (and even if it hit him), but if you are an artist at heart or can appreciate art, you will certainly love what's going to hit you in the next few pictures.

So what exactly is this Mosa- mosaeee- um... Mosaiculture thing?

Because I am too lazy to rack my brain in order to describe it poetically, I will copy paste from the official website:
Mosaiculture is a refined horticultural art that involves creating and mounting living artworks made primarily from plants with colourful foliage (generally annuals, and occasionally perennials).
While the definition is as boring as a dictionary's, I can guarantee you it is so much more than any adjectives I could think of. Instead, let me show you in pictures what I mean.

It is a representation of a family shaped into a tree. Family tree, get it? Har har.

The Man Who Planted Trees. This is where the epic-ness starts. First comes the sheeps, then the man of the hour, then the dog and BAM! HORSES. I love their fluid movement through the bed of flowers.

BEES' attack!! Is this a horror movie??

BAM! Wrong. You're looking at the honey-making process.

This one in particular did blow me away and is based on the story of a girl who loves red-crowned cranes and while trying to save the injured animal, she slipped into a swamp and died.

Don't know if you can see the mist in the picture, but yeah, that was a special effect that came with that piece of Art. That and the beautiful melody in the background. Tried Soundhound-ing it, but it did not work.

Now, onto Japan's. Our favourite Hachiko was on display! (FYI Hachiko is Japan's symbol of loyalty - there is a bronze statue of him at Shibuya station. Hachiko is remembered for his remarkable faithfulness to his owner, even many years after his owner's death. Very touching story; worth googling.)

You could even write a wish! Which I did.

And next to Hachiko, the cutest Loggerhead Sea Turtle (SO CUTE) swims on a... piano?? I guess anything is possible.

Animals:

More animals:

Real animal in the pond:

Non-animal:

Amazing plant sculpture, too wide to be captured in a picture so try to imagine all of the following in one large space!!

And as always, save the last for the best. This is a cluster of bird creatures, as well as turtles and lizards. It's like darts ready to fly in every direction. They even built stairs so that you could get a better view or take pictures!

That's how impressive it is.

Please note that all of the above pictures were taken with my Blackberry. While I might hate it with passion, I gotta admit, the pictures are actually decent quality!

The Stylish Traveler

I will be the first person to admit it, and admit it with beaming eyes! (⌒▽⌒ゞ

I am a TravelHolic, and I love to travel in (my own) style. I'm planning to conquer the world this autumn and winter with my awesomeness and all my cute accessories. They are my treasure trove and my amazing finds so far! So here we go!

Travel Companion

Meet my travel companion.

His name is Boo, and he is the cutest companion one could ever have. At first glance, he might just seem like a small, cute little cuddly bear, but looks can be deceiving surprise you. You know what they say! Don't judge a book by its cover. While he is a bear... he can also transform into a neck pillow!!

He certainly is worthy to be my amazing find numbah one!

Sleep Mask

Beauty sleep is crucial. Covering my eyes while sleeping on the airplane is also crucial. And doing so while looking oh so cute is the most crucial part of it all. Actually, I'm pretty certain I look rather funny when I sleep with my mouth hanging wide open and whatnot.

The solution to all my sleepy problems:

This awesome cat sleep mask.

Passport Holder

It is very hard to find a passport holder that is both fashionable and versatile. Most of them are either brown or completely boring and outdated. I'm the kind of person who needs a lot of pockets to organize all my papers and cards. I was visiting Boston with my friend, and I've noticed she had the cutest blue passport holder ever. When I asked where she got it, she answered with a small wink, "eBay". What can't you find on eBay, right?

Luckily, I found it in pink. However, I was conflicted in which pink to choose.

I ended up buying them both.

Toothbrush Case

Look what I got! Okay, so it isn't pink, but it certainly is cute! (*≧▽≦)

Camera Bag

I am still in the process of looking for the perfect camera bag. I am careful not to choose anything too heavy to carry around (the lenses are already heavy enough), and my two criteria are that it must be practical and very feminine, perhaps flowery.

However, the closest thing I came to find was colourful, which is close enough to what I would label as "perfection". I have managed to narrow it down to a few options.

I am still undecided but am keeping an open mind when it comes to options!

Over a month left until vacation!!

And the countdown starts now!

Chicka chicka boom boom!

Welcome to my Little Cocoon!

HALLLOW!
( ̄▽ ̄)ノ

Greetings from the northern country of maple syrup and stormy winters!

My name is Tee. Actually, Tee isn't my real name, although it does start with a T. I love colours, rainbows and unicorns. I am a professional procrastinator, but my dream is to be the coolest, hippest artist I can be.

I'm a dreamer at work by day and a cookie monster by night.

Thank you for stopping by and saying hello.

Here is a cookie for you.

He is shiny and strong.

So, is this blog about cookies, you ask?

NO! I say.

It is about the Arts (whether it be the art of drawing, the art of writing or even the art of baking or pairing clothes, because I can't seem to pick a favourite). It is about everything cute. It is all about colours! Feminine, flowery, bold COLOURS!

So, welcome to my Little Cocoon! Please wipe your shoes on the mat and come right in!

In this beautiful, artsy, cute and colorful world of mine!
